One the best parts of being a photographer for Bella is hearing what my clients feel and say after a session. It’s so amazing, and I’m proud. Here is a little feedback from Anne Marie & we asked her to share some images from her session as well. She’s stunning! ~ Karen
“I became aware of Karen McNeil and Bella Boudoir through my cousin. Karen had taken photos of her newborn and my cousin mentioned that she also did boudoir photos. We talked about the possibility of both of us doing this. I live in Calgary and was coming to visit in August. The night before I was to leave, my cousin phoned and told me to pack some lingerie as she had booked a session for me with Bella Boudoir as an early birthday gift. Needless to say I was surprised and excited (and a bit nervous) as I rushed around trying to find something to wear.
I was more excited than nervous the day of the photo shoot. My cousin (and her babe) accompanied me. Within seconds of meeting Karen any apprehension I may have felt quickly melted away. She spent time with me reviewing which style of photos I was interested in and choosing what I would wear for the shoot. I loved that she asked me who I was doing the photos for…I told her I was doing them for me….but that I would share them with my husband!
Then came the hair and makeup. I’ve never been one to wear a lot of makeup, so was a bit nervous about how I would end up looking. The stylist was amazing and knew exactly what colours to choose for me and chose a style that was fitting with my personality. I didn’t get to see the progress of the hair and makeup as it was happening, but could tell by the look on my cousin’s face that she was doing a great job. I think I let out a scream of joy and disbelief when she put the mirror in front of me!! If only I could look like that every day!
The photo session was amazing. Karen was so professional and gave excellent directions, so that within no time I felt as though I had been doing lingerie photo shoots for years! She made me feel so comfortable in my own skin–not an easy feat after having 3 kids. I think that as women, particularly those of us who are mothers, we often lose touch with the feminine, sexy side of ourselves–I know I had. We’re so busy and don’t take the time to honour ourselves. This was such a fabulous experience. Once I walked through the Bella Boudoir doors I felt like a million bucks. Any inhibitions rapidly disappeared and I felt sexy, vibrant and alive. I think all women should have to opportunity to feel this way.
