“Working with Karen was an extremely empowering experience. For all the typical reasons you would think- honouring your beauty with a boudoir session is meant to be empowering, and so much more. But also in the way that I was able to highlight a very difficult time in my life. A time when my body was forced to adjust to a major change that left me with almost unbearable pain and scarring. Cancer took a lot from me but it also continues to teach me so much. As I healed from this surgery, I learned to appreciate the imperfections left behind, visible for anyone to see. It is part of the reason I’m still here today and I’m incredibly grateful for that. Karen gave me the opportunity to shine light on my scars and to show others that I’m proud of the story behind them. I hope it also encourages others to embrace their own scars and imperfections, all with important stories to tell. Thanks so much for the opportunity! “ ~ Bella M
